Il y a un soldat Duffié inconnu! The unknown Duffié soldier

Many Nations have a monument or a memorial to a unknown soldier (wikipedia page). It seems that the Duffié family, at its level, has also a unknown soldier.

Le site gallica de la Bibliothèque nationale de France regorge d'informations... La dernière trouvaille en date est la référence à un chef de bataillon Duffié décédé lors des événements de la révolution de 1848 à Paris.
The website of the National Library of France still holds a lot of unexplored books with possible references to our ancestors.
The last gold nugget is the mention to a Battalion Chief Duffié, fallen during the 1848 events in Paris (wikipedia page).

Jean Auguste, le frère de Rose Henriette fait partie de la Garde nationale comme l'indique son dossier d'officier de la Légion d'Honneur (voir ici). Après les événements de 1848, il est promu chef de bataillon.

Son fils, Auguste Duffié, obtiendra son brevet de chevalier de la Légion d'honneur en 1871 pour ses services dans la Garde nationale (il s'engagea comme volontaire dès le début de la révolution de 1848, sera capitaine à l'état-major général en 1864, chef d'escadron d'état-major de la Garde nationale à la veille de la guerre de 1870-1871 et atteindra le grade de lieutenant-colonel en 1870).

Deux hypothèses pour ce Dufié:

• Du fait que les archives parisiennes reconstituées ne le sont que partiellement, ce Dufié pourrait être un fils de Jean-Auguste. Pour être chef de bataillon en 1848, il faudrait que ce soit l'aîné de la fratrie, donc né avant 1827. Ce serait alors le neveu de Rose Henriette.
• Tous les autres enfants de Jean Auguste étant décédés après 1850, il pourrait s'agir du frère de Jean Auguste et de Rose Henriette, Louis Félix né en 1800 à Orléans, pour lequel il y a peu d'informations. 

There are two hypothesis:

• Nattie Duffié's unknown brother. All known Nattie's brothers will die after 1850. Reminder: the birth registries for the Paris city burnt during the 1860's event. Because there are very few certificates that were recovered thanks to existing copies owned by citizens, it is very difficult to rebuilt a family of the early 1800's. Mainly people living after 1860 will have had an oportunity or interest to rebuilt the birth certificates. The rank of Battalion Commander in 1848 would only have been reahed by someone with a military background or with enough experience. Hence this Duffié would have been an elderly brother for Nattie.
• Nattie's uncle? Louis Felix, born in Orléans, who would have followed Nattie's father to Paris. There is currently no information on him.

While Nattie's father was also Battalion Commander of the French National Guard (see his Officer of the Legion of Honor file here), Nattie's brother Auguste will be awarded the same Knight medal for his services in the Paris National Guard. He volunteered during the 1848 events and was Lieutenant-Colonel in 1871.

The latest hypothesis seems the most probable but needs to be confirmed by military services records.
